Neighbourly Help Scheme

Are you unable to use public transport?

Do you need help with shopping?

Are you housebound and would like a regular visitor?

If any of the above situations apply to you our Neighbourly Help service is here to help you. We have a team of volunteers who offer help to anyone living within the North Oxford area: central North Oxford, Jericho, Summertown, Cutteslowe & Wolvercote.

  • To use our service, phone the NOA Community Centre (01865 552295) any time between 10.00am and 3.45pm, Monday to Friday, with details of your request.
  • Please contact us 3 to 4 days in advance to enable us to locate a suitable volunteer.
  • We can provide transport to essential appointments within the Oxford City boundary.
  • This service is free of charge and is run by NOA volunteers.

If you are interested in volunteering to support this scheme, please contact NOA.

Neighbourly Help Coordinator needed

Do you have a few hours every week to coordinate and develop NOA's Neighbourly Help Scheme? The role involves checking that Neighbourly Help requests are being dealt with, meeting new volunteers for the scheme, matching up requests with available volunteers. There is plenty of scope to develop this wonderful scheme for the local community - it's great experience and the chance to make a difference.
